We just got all the information for DD's 8th grade trip to Washington DC, Philadelphia and Amish Country. It will take place May 2010. We will be registering next week to assure our spots.

We are both very excited; it looks like it will be so interesting, educational, hectic, and oh so fun! (I think I may actually be more excited than DD...but she is very excited too). And even though we have been to DC, this will be such a different trip, one that will make our country's history come alive. Something that I feel is very important for my daughter's education, and will be a darned good refresher for me too! And, of course, it will be really great mom and daughter time as well. :)

We will get to do many things we haven't done before like tour the White House, go to Mount Vernon, tour the Capitol, go to Philadelphia and Gettysburg, see Amish Country, etc. So we will have many other brand new experiences also.

We will be having fundraisers to help offset the cost of this trip (~$4500). In October, DD will participate in a jog-a-thon where every pledge she gets will directly go towards her trip. We will also be selling Gurrlie Girl Jewelry, starting very soon, as a fundraiser also. We are both committed to working hard to help raise money for this trip.

Wish us luck! :)
