After class, Cher, Hyram and I went to the Capital Museum via taxi. It's free to get in, but you have to show your ID to get a ticket. There are six floors; five had exhibits. It was a nice museum showing the culture and history of China through everyday life (weddings, babies, living), porcelain, Buddha statues, and artifacts from prehistory to the 1940s. We were there maybe two hours.

We then went to have lunch across the street at a shopping center. On the 5th floor there were several restaurants. We had lunch at Yoshinoya, which of course is Japanese and common in the U.S. It was a simple fast meal that did the job. We took a taxi back to the school, and I was taking a nap by 2:00 p.m.

I got a text from Manuel asking to get into the room to get his bags; he sent it while I was at the museum but I didn't get it until later. However, when I reached him after I got back, he was already on a train. Bummer. He said he had a small bag of things though. He didn't seem too upset.

It also answered the question about Yesanpo--obviously he was going somewhere else. I kinda figured I was going anyway because I had gotten a text from Amy asking for my birthdate for the insurance. So I wasn't too worried about it.

After my nap, I walked down to the underground store to get some ramen bowls for dinner and some snacks. This time I got lime flavored potato chips. They had totally different flavors than they had last time.

After I ate my ramen, I worked on getting my computer's internet connection to work. I went back and forth between my computer and Tania's to get the same settings for the LAN connection. I actually got it to work! Yay me! However, I have not been able to log on through the portal. So I am only one small step ahead: I got to the portal. So now if I can just find someone to help me with the correct username and password, I may actually be able to use the internet again before I leave. Fingers crossed. After trying a different browser, I got it to work! YAY!
