Each day it gets harder and harder to wake up. I'm not sure why exactly. It can't be jetlag...I never really had any. I think maybe it's the poor sleep I've been having because of my breathing issues. I think my body is tired from trying to breathe, also.

Anyway, class went well as always. I perused the lunch choices before I went to my room to put away my things. Nothing looked appetizing. I decided to go to the underground market. Wearing my mask, I trotted down there and bought some cashews and two cold jasmine green teas, plus some tissues and toilet paper. Oh, and some chopsticks. Sarah gave me a ramen bowl last night, I think I might have that tonight for dinner...so I need something to eat it with. I still wanted something else, so I went to the other store almost next door. There I bought some elephant bananas. Well, that's what I call them. They're little tiny bananas, like the ones we fed the elephants in Thailand. They smell like flowers.

I got back to the dorm and started in on my feast of cashews, bananas, and cold jasmine tea when my phone rang. It was Rob and the kids. YAY! It was so nice to talk to them and hear about all the things going on at home: the camps, the acting class, the dog, work, plans, etc. They also told me about a guy who set off a bomb in the Beijing airport yesterday. WHAT? I had heard nothing about it. I just googled it, and it's a very sad story. It happened in Terminal 3...the same one I came out of from my flight.

It's very quiet today. Everyone went to the Summer Palace this morning. I couldn't go because I had class. But it's ok, I will go there with Ada. I am also trying to rest, so my body can adjust to the air here. Another day of rest is in order.
