Today has been much like the day before yesterday. I actually set my alarm for 15 minutes later (7:15 a.m.) for just a few more minutes of sleep. I got up dragged myself downstairs for breakfast. Today was a good day. They had some sweetish thingies to eat. One was a bread ball filled with red bean paste. I can't even describe the other.

I went to class, which was difficult to teach. It's all oral language, which means I have to do a lot of pronouncing and talking to model the language. Towards the end I had to leave the classroom because I was coughing so much. It was awful. I nearly threw up from the force of the coughing. I'm glad I had an inhaler with me; although, I'm not sure it helped a lot. It just seemed to take its course. My poor student was worried about me.

I ate lunch. This time I had some soup. Usually I don't have the soup. It seems to be an absolute staple, but I'm not a soup person. There's always a vat of steaming soup in the middle of the seating area where you just help yourself. Today they had the green bean soup, which is red in color. Who woulda thunk? The first time I had soup, Gloria told me to have some of this because it helps balance the emotions from the extreme heat. OK...I could use some balance. So, when they had it again today, I had some. It has a very mild flavor, very doable. Plus it is soothing to my throat.

Then, bed. Cough, cough, sleep. Cough, cough, sleep. I even had a nightmare. Not nice.

I was going to go to one of the camp ceremonies today at 2:30, but I just couldn't do it. I'm not doing dinner either. It's rice rolls and tea for me tonight. I do hope I start feeling better soon.

I just got a new roommate, Cathy. She is Chinese and going to university here. She just finished the Great Wall Camp. She seems super nice and friendly. She has to go to her university, but will be back on Monday.

It's time for some tea...
