At about 11 am we took the U to Stephansdom Platz. There were a lot more people out than I had expected. No stores were open, but everyone was walking around and either coming from or going to a Christmas service of some sort or other.
We went into St. Stephansdom where service was being held. ...
We walked around the old areas of Vienna. Saw several of the old, beautiful churches. My favorite was the Jesuit church. It was probably one of the most beautiful and unique cathedrals I've seen. It had the most majestic spiral marble columns.
We had lunch just down from there at an incredible restaurant. I ordered filet of deer which I shared with DH. He ordered goulosh soup also. The kids both had Greek salad. The food was delicious, the atmosphere superb.
We made it into the Jewish quarter and to the oldest church in Vienna. It started to rain. Fortunately, it started out just a light patter and seemed to really start to coming down as we got to the U station to head home for a break.
