Where I stayed
We had a nice drive to the hotel though; had a good conversation with another passenger about Europe. Got checked in and settled in our room. Then promptly went across the street to a Whataburger for a late dinner. We'd never eaten at such a place before. Just a burger place, but it hit the spot, especially the warm cinnamon rolls for dessert. Yummm!
The best part of dinner was watching this group that formed while we were there. It started with this 'trench-coat guy' who reminded me of Dwight on The Office, complete with Bluetooth in his ear and nonstop sci-fi babble. Others started showing up while we ate, each bringing and setting up their laptops.
There were the two homely girls (complete with mismatched clothes, bad teeth, bad hair, and glasses) that you couldn't help but feel sorry for, but you just knew they were greatly admired by the boys in the group. There was one boy who could surely pass for "normal" if he so chose, but somehow he felt more comfortable with the Geek Squad. They were so stereotypically nerdy that you'd think there was a movie being filmed! It was very cute.
Now, I'm in the Business Center writing this. I hate it when hotels charge for Internet...such a ripoff. Then, the hotel's computers have this lame Spyware thing on it that goes off every few minutes and shuts everything down for 30 seconds. How stupid is that? Finally figured out how to hook up my own computer to the hard line. No more of that BS. Still.
Need to let DD on the computer before she has a meltdown. Have to get to bed for our flight tomorrow...it's already 11 pm.
