I had a wonderful, although quick, visit to Savannah. I immediately fell in love with it. The squares, configured on a grid, are just beautiful with green space in the middle and surrounded by stately southern homes. I couldn't get enough of the trees dripping with wispy, green moss. It just epitomizes my vision of the South.

Amongst the homes, there are antique stores and bed & breakfasts. I had a great time going into the musty old buildings looking at all the wonderful old antiques. It was fun talking to the people in the antique stores too; they were so full of knowledge and Southern charm, if not a bit of Savannah eccentricity.

You can't walk through the squares and not imagine Southern Belles strolling along, perhaps with a beau or two, protected from the sun by a dainty parasol...
