On our girls' trip to Paris, my daughter and I made a trip to Versailles to see the world of Marie Antoinette. We spent the better part of the day exploring the Chateau, the Grand Trianon, the Petit Trianon, and my favorite, the Queen's Hameau.
The Hameau was Marie's escape from Palace life where she farmed in an idyllic, fantasy setting that makes you wish you could go back in time. Thatched roofs, bleeting sheep, and glossy pond make it complete.
Of all the castles I've been to, this was the most wonderful.
