I visited Butchart Gardens in Victoria, Vancouver Island, Canada twice. The first time was when I was 16 years old, and I was on a trip with my parents. The second time was in 2001 when I went with my own family and my husband's parents.

Both times the garden was just beautiful. The flowers were in bloom in every color imagineable, the fountains and water features refreshing, the statues were charming, and the grounds immaculate.

Despite the summer crowds, it's a nice place to visit, especially if you are the least bit interested in botanicals. They have different gardens to visit: a rose garden, an Italian garden, a Japanese garden, etc. The gardens contain over 1,000,000 plants.

I think it is definitely a worthwhile place to see.

Go Again!
The Butchart Gardens are always a treat to explore when you visit Victoria BC. I live in Victoria, I'm lucky if I get to visit any more than once a year. I like to go in the summer on a Saturday afternoon and evening when they have those incredible fireworks displays. Then after, exploring the Butchart Gardens under the cloak of night ads a new dimension to the Victoria BC attraction
