CA's Wine Country (World)-- Napa Valley (US&C)

I have been to Napa and Sonoma many times. The first time I visited was a drive through the area with my parents on a Fall day back when I was a kid. I remember the tunnel of trees on either side of the road in all of their Autumn splendor.
Since that time, I have gone several times with my DH. We enjoy wine tasting and visiting the many wineries within Napa, Sonoma and the surrounding areas. I couldn't even begin to count all the wineries that we have been to; there are just too many over the years.
Our favorite time to visit is around Thanksgiving. It's not tourist season, so the wineries tend to be quiet, and we can talk to the person behind the counter and just take our time, learning about the different wines.
There are so many great restaurants in the area, some good antique stores, a wonderful little (upscale) grocery store, Dean & Deluca, that we like to go to, and beautiful, beautiful scenery. One of our favorite places to eat is the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in St. Helena. The experienced students run the restaurant and provide an incredible gourmet dining experience.
Of course, California has several other great wine areas besides Napa and Sonoma that are also worth visiting: Santa Barbara (Santa Ynez), Sierra Foothills, and Temecula.
