For breakfast I warmed up our free crepes in the crazy microwave (took me awhile to figure the darned thing out). Then I spread them with butter, sugar, and a cinnamon/nutmeg spice mix I found in the cupboard. Oh, man, were those things yummy!
DH got in at around 11:00 AM. The kids and I had waited around and had a leisurely morning so we wouldn't miss his arrival. After he got settled in, poor guy was so tired, we went walking around in the Marais. We went through the oldest covered market site in Paris--the Enfants Rouges.
We found a place for lunch right across the street at Cafe Charlot. They were very nice, and the food was delicious. DH and I shared a cheeseburger & fries with wine. I haven't ever had a cheeseburger with wine before or had a burger in Paris for that matter
DD had Spaghetti Carbonara which came with an egg yolk on top. She kinda freaked out at first. I told her to just mix it in and eat it. She did, and it made the most amazing sauce. DS had this huge Salade Nicoise which was tasty--he loved it.
The place was fairly pricey, but we enjoyed our little corner table, the fantastic food (which was well worth the price), and the nice staff. It was the best bistro we went to on the trip.
From there we walked around some more. We stopped into Musee Carnavalet to show DH, but he was just too tired (so were we) to see more than the first room. So we walked back to the apartment.
We had quiet time while DH took a nap.
Then we went out again. We went to the Monoprix to get supplies for dinner. DH wanted coffee so we found a place to stop. The waiter was a total jerk and wouldn't serve me and the kids tap water (l'eau de robinet).
Then we went back and had dinner: cheese ravioli with Provence tomato sauce topped with grated gran padano and bread plus the wine I had gotten to celebrate DH's arrival.
By the time we finished dinner it was 10 PM, so we went to bed soon after that.

Did you actually know?
To mix the egg yolk in, or did you just make it up and hope it tasted good?
