Where I stayed
DH parked the car and went in with us through check-in which had a long line even for the quick line for elite members. We then went up to security, and DH could watch us go through from the platform above. When we finished up and got all our stuff off the conveyor belt, we waved our last goodbyes.
We had two hours to sit and wait for departure, and since DH wasn't with us, we couldn't go to the Admiral's Club. He had suggested we get a day pass, but I said no. It just didn't seem worth it to me. I figured it would be ok to just sit with the general public on this trip. Ha ha. ;)
Finally we boarded. The 3+ hour flight to Chicago was fine. It was in an S80, which for a smallish plane wasn't too bad. Our flight attendant wasn't the best though. Seemed very friendly to certain people that she wanted to chat with, but we weren't on her list apparently. She didn't give me the water I had asked for, and she sat DD's water right on top of a beautiful drawing she was doing instead of on the tray table next to it. What a ho.
The first class flight attendant was very nice though. She had leftover chocolate chip cookies and came back (we were near the front of the main cabin) and asked me if she could give the kids a cookie. I thought that was really nice. The kids were pleased too. :) As we exited the plane she could tell they enjoyed the cookies; DS still had chocolate all over his face!
Oh, yeah, we saw some beautiful scenery out the window: Lake Mead in Nevada, and Zion and some canyons in Utah, and then the Colorado River. Really amazing!
