Just a note to let you know that I've taken the AF Culture exam and tomorrow I start my work year when I leave for Lakenheath AF Base the home of the 48th fighter wing (known as the Statue of Liberty Wing) - the largest US AF Op in England. Marilynn and Ron I'm leaving my F22 hat and golf towel home because the F15 reigns at this base (the other golfers in Cabo did covet it). I've got my walking shoes and am ready to take on Cambridge and, of course, a week end or two in London.

I've been repeating "Wide right. Short left" to myself for a week but I know I'll end up trying to shift the door knob with my right hand. Let's just hope I don't end up in one of those ditches that line the narrow roads. I'm being picked up at the airport and driven to the base for those of you who worry I'll even make it. Of course I will get checked in and then hit the deck running since my predecessor leaves on Friday. If anyone wants to talk about jet lag, I'm your listener.

I always feel a little sad as I pack up to leave. After a wonderful New Years with the kids I'm sad to say their dog Jasper died. I only wish I could be with you Kim . We did laugh a a little thinking about the time he threw up all over the dash of my BMW - I never let Andrew know about it Kim or he might not have bought the car from me. We also chuckled about the time they came to visit and let Jasper wander the yard. Imagine our surprise when the beautiful white dog who didn't particularly like the water came to the door covered in green lake scum. YUK. Hang in there and have a great time in Cabo.

Speaking of Cabo. My GB/TB and I had a restful - only at 60 does one wish to have a "restful time" in Cabo San Lucas - time this year in the perfect climate. Many of our friends were delayed due to the bad weather but we prevailed. My GB/TB is sporting a great tan and a beautiful engagement ring. Like I said, "Jeff" you should have been there. Next time and you can join us in the jacuzzi, overlooking the ocean with the stars overhead after a tough day on the golf course. What bad weather in Michigan?

As we sat around the breakfast table on New Year's Day we all talked about our resolutions. Jacob (on the fringe of adolescence) stated that his resolution was to find a girlfriend this year. We'll be consulting as the year progresses. Mo I have filed your advice and will keep you posted.

Sayonara (Oops, I need to save that for the fall).

Cheerio.
