And I was worried about not having enough work. What can I say? The past few days have been so great catching up with my buddies, however, in between I have been on the phone and e-mailing the dispatchers trying to set up my work schedule. That is when I wasn't trying to hook up this DSL and swearing up a blue streak - thank heavens for good ole dial up!
After several edits, it looks like I have things nailed down through April. I will be leaving in two weeks for some place in Germany for a month long assignment - we are affectionately refered to as 30 day wonders - and then it is off to Alaska for two months from the end of February to the end of April. As I type, I am erasing the previously penciled German tours to put these on my calendar in ink. The good news is that I will get to explore some part of Germany before I return for a longer assignment AND I will be traveling to Alaska a few days before the start of the Iditarod on March first in downtown Anchorage
The bad news is that the zipper on my arctic jacket is non functional and I have only a few days to repack for Germany, which I assume will be almost as cold and snowy as Alaska, when I return from Cabo. I can see it now. I will end up in Cabo with snow boots and long underwear and in Germany with the perfect beach resort wear. As long as I have my golf clubs and a bathing suit in Mexico I'm set to go!
So forgive me if I miss you this holiday. I will try to touch base with everyone but trying to get things done and carry on a conversation is beyond my capabilities at this stage of my life. Know that I'm safe (maybe not sound) and trying frantically to get things done before I leave again. After having some enlightening discussions with consultant Jackie Dechaine I think it's time I start to consider finding a full time house sitter/assistant. Thanks again for all of your support. This has been some year.
If you have a minute or two during the holidays please give this website a click:

And don't forget to pick up a copy of January's Vanity Fair.
Happy Holidays again.
Bill can we plan that dinner the week end of Feb 9th or 16th! No matter how tired I might be I will drag my weary body anywhere just to see you guys. Tell Ron and Marsha I will bring home a German beer mug!

Ready to go
! Andre has asked me to leave his coat long in hopes that he might be accompanying me to Alaska. HE thinks he's ready for the race. I, on the other hand, have been disagreeing vehemently. I told him he wouldn't be there 10 minutes before that overactive tongue of his would be firmly frozen to some stationary object! The bad news is that the zipper on my arctic jacket is non functional and I have only a few days to repack for Germany, which I assume will be almost as cold and snowy as Alaska, when I return from Cabo. Merry Christmas
Well you wanted change and action and it looks like you are getting it. At least there is a little time to catch up with family and friends before the next surge east. You won't need those shorts and sandals in frosty Germany, maybe ski boots.
Love Lil
What a life!
Hi Brenda,
Sounds like life is filled with excitement and adventure! I am thrilled for you and inspired. I would love to go Alaska and to visit Germany again. Happy Trails!
