I have arrived safe and sound. At least safely. I'm having difficulty with my computer and have come to the library to update my blog. I have just managed to erase 15 minutes of dialogue so this will be very brief (and I will save every other line).
The trip over was uneventful. I was able to stretch out and get about 5 hours of sleep. I awoke looking as if I were wearing a NWA complimentary blanket. My sweater was sporting wool balls, tissue pieces, cracker crumbs and an occasional hair - I hope they were mine! Just try to look sophisticated and competent wearing a blanket and trying to navigate two suitcases.
I have moved into my home of the next two months and it DOES have a kitchenette and bidet. It had a washing machine that disappeared between the time I met with the former CYS person and when I moved in
The other two M-Flecks are quite nice. Deb looks and acts like Lynn with Bonnie Raitt hair and a southern accent. Makes me feel right at home and we are already planning to go to Valipolicella and/or Chianti next week end.
Temps are going down. There is snow and sleet in the mountains surrounding Vicenza. Ski trips are being planned. Makes me glad that I threw in a couple more layers. I have a lovely balcony that doesn't look like it will get used if the temps don't improve.
I am facinated by the Army base. Yesterday, there were protesters outside. It really is a small world equipped with men - everywhere - women, spouses and families. I ate in the food court yesterday and felt like I was at a local high shcool with all of the teen- agers there for lunch. Loved seeing all of the little kids. They are the same everywhere.
More later. I'm off to explore Vicenza and get some supplies. Driving my Ford van. WHEW.
Ciao

. It felt very much like Provence and/or Tuscany. C'est normal. I have also met the proprieter's sister - a visually impaired woman who has told me that she likes my voice but not so much my face. Go figure. The other two M-Flecks are quite nice. Deb looks and acts like Lynn with Bonnie Raitt hair and a southern accent. Welcome to Italy
Glad to hear that travel went well and you have settled in comfortably. It sounds beautiful where you are and seasons are definitely chsnging. How it it to be there alone? Does it feel okay. Have you started to work yet? What is that going to be like. Hewre it is summer 70 today and 80 on Monday, pretty wild weather. It is like summer continues and continues and continues. This travelogue is great; its as if I am vicariously traveling with you.

Another sunny Sunday in Michigan
I see you are experiencing the inevetable computer woes of traveling. Write on your flash drive and then copy and paste into the blog.
I vote for Valipolicella. MMMmmmmmmmm
It is 55 and going up to 76 and sunny today. Went for a boat ride last night but everyone is pulling their boat today :(
Cheers!
