Our last evening, after the wretched bone extravaganza, we took the metro all the way up to the castle town. People, if this isn't a GD fairy tale, I don't know what is. The sun was mellowing low in the sky as we strolled through painted gardens, its final rays frosting ancient stones, kissing golden accents, dancing like sprites in window corners across the city below.

The Prague castle is the largest ancient castle in the world. We walked the footsteps of Bohemian Kings and Roman Emperors. The castle dates back to the 9th century and has weathered wars, fires, revolts. Through mellenia, the castle has had facelifts of many styles, from the original Gothic Church of St. Mary to the Romanesque Palace and Cathedral to the Rennaissance Spanish Hall.

We were beyond gasps now, forced only to mutter "F***ing Prage. A God **** Fairy Tale", our sarcasm humbled by red roofs, the echoes of a Czech Shakespearean amphitheater performance, the cool of early evening coaxing today's heat from noble weathered stone as it has for countless generations.
