În Peru!
Entry 4 of 21 | show all | print this entry |
I have to keep this short...my internet time is running out! I should be able to get back on here soon, either tonight or tomorrow because net access is REAALY cheap! 1 sol for about 1.5 hrs....and 1 sol is about 35 cents or so. Well, Just want to let you all know that I am safe in Ayacucho now. The flight to Lima was great, I was able to sleep a it on the plane. Lima itself is the most dangerous city I have ever been in..more about that later. I then met up with another volunteer, Brandie, at the Inka Hostel in Lima Sat. night. I slept for about 2 hours, then we headed back to the airport at 3am. We caught the 6am flight to Ayacucho. When we arrived here it was 6 degrees Celcius...but right now, it is about 25 and the sun is really hot. The home base is nice, and the food is good. I just explored the village a little bit, and I am still in a bit of shock. I took many photos which I will upload as soon as I figure out how to do that. OK! No time left, I will write again soon.

CCS in ayacucho? (reply) Mar 26, 2008 13:52 EST by mirandaclare
Hi! I don't know you but I'm going to be doing a CCS internship in Ayacucho this summer, and I stumbled across your blog while researching good hikes + sights off the beaten path in Ayacucho. Do you have any advice? How did you like CCS? Do you know of any good parks etc for hiking, or have suggestions for authentic little restaurants and stores?
Thanks so much!
Miranda

Glad to hear from you. This new technology stuff is pretty cool. I will communicate with you when I can. Glad to know you are safe and sound. That's the main thing. I know you have some great experiences.
All my love,
Mama. xoxo
