The Perhentians and Redang Island are not too far apart. From the beach in the Perhentians we could clearly see Redang on the horizon. Getting between the two is a bit of a mission though:
1 Hour Ferry back to the mainland heading north, 1 hour wait for bus, 2 hour bus back down south in line with Perhentians, then 2 more connecting ferries to get to Redang. 7 Hours to travel less than 100km as the crow flies with 400km of bus and boat rides thrown in - go figure! This was all made fun by running around in the heat of the day with our backpacks on in the tarmaced jetty area, with no sign of our ferry or the correct jetty.
