Got a boat trip to the islands with French Begian couple Veronique and Jerome. Our guide JoseLuis was dark-skinned, sinewy and relaxed looking. First stop was "La Psicina" for snorkelling. The water was turquioise and the snorkelling did not diasappoint. There was beatiful soft coral, hard coral covered in colourful chirstmas tree worms and lots of fish. Next stop a small white beach with a jetty and one Venezuelan family already there. Real Carribean paridise. Shallow turqoise water and tranquil shady beach.Lovely hour's relaxing before heading to another island to buy beers.
This island was inhabited and I stayed on the boat while the rest when into town. Soon I was inundated by the little children who had been swimming around the jetty. I managed to learn all their names, watched them all dive off the jetty for me and they brought me live Cowries but before I could tell them to put the back in the sea one of the older girls (about 8 years old) told them for me. The youngest one asked me where I had left my baby. Then they found the snorkelling masks at the back of the boat. My spanish was not good enough to tell them that they were not mine to lend, and powerless aginst 15 children, and off they went each having a turn, but dutifuly returned them wen the boat driver came back. Another family pilled on board the boat and we dropped them at the beach we had just come from before heading for lunch (Maria biscuits for me and chicken and salad for the rest).
After lunch more snorkelling at a little island. Unfortunately this beach was strewn with litter- national park?
Final stop was an island with white beach, warm shallow sea and hummingbird and butterflies. The usual afternoon rain could be seen on the mainland. Saw a pod of small dolphins on the way back which was lovely.
