Left the night before bound for Hershey, PA. We got the itch to bail from Black Mountain a few days early. We were not due into Kiawah Island until August 10th. But, the natives were getting restless so we headed to the real Wonka Chocolate Factory. It's only a mere 537 miles away from home base. The trip was smooth first one after our leak and skylight repairs. Hopefully that will be the last RV service for awhile. Well Hershey Park is pretty big. We got in late afternoon hoping to get into the water park but that didn't work out. Instead we went into Chocolate World and did the tour showing how wonderful Hershey chocolate is done. The kids sort of enjoyed it. They were looking forward to the free sample of chocolate at the end of the ride thinking they'd get a Hershey bar but instead you get a couple of kisses. Needless to say they were disappointed and with a huge craving for more chocolate. I guess that's the idea. As expected the tour exits through the souvenier shop so naturally we ended up looking around and buying chocs. Afterwards they went to the Factory Works interactive tour and made the chocolate special by putting it together with lots of love and a little song and dance. They were so cute. We couldn't do much more after that since it was getting late and our parking was about to expire. We were going to do the amusement park the next day but the weather made a turn for the worst. It rained all day. We started heading down South towards Kiawah Island but decided to check out Virginia Beach and take the RV in due to another leak. Water was coming out from underneath the cabinets all along the seams by the floor. Turns out the prior repair was done half heartedly and the pressure forced the pipe out. We were left without being able to use water until we could repair it. The place we attempted to take it to didn't work out and we ended up driving about 26 miles to Dodd's RV in Portsmouth. They were very helpful and took care of the problem. Very pleased with their customer service.
