Has it really only been 4 months in the planning, feels like a lot longer! Departing this morning at 7.45 could have been easier, I've been dreading that bit for days............emotional or what ( not helped by a call from Mother Nature, great timing mum) even the Missy cried!
I could have definitely done with my morning coffee from Bill.....what sort of PA are you not on the station with tissues and cup in hand!
M&L stay safe and be good to each other, we love you .................this much!!!!!

So far everything has gone to plan Gloucester train on time, tube to St Pancras like something from Disney's universal studios.....on time and now here we are on Eurostar to Brussels at 14.46.
OMG this is really happening!!! We very nearly asked the guard at gloucester station "does this train go to Singapore?" but it would have been wasted..........Only 10k miles to go!! Cue for our first song Mags!

Last minute preparations last night (yes it wouldn't be the same if I didn't have 'JIT stuff' to do would it) were challenging. Were we going to be able to lift the rucksacks?....No!!! Something's got to go, they're still bloody heavy, we might be loosing some of this on the way.

Wow!! we're now in France, how easy was that. Mum, we must do this next year. My new 50 meter watch coped really well going that deep. St Pancras just like an airport lounge, could charge phone while waiting, train luxury, spacious and 20 mins and your through.

I was overwhelmed with the number of texts received in the last few days and this morning, you are all wonderful and I luv you and miss you already!!! But don't despair too much cos I will keep you all entertained over the next few months with witty banter and repartee along with much ramblings, useful tips, all our planning mistakes, appalling grammar but some 'quality' photos.

Well we had the company of Simon on the train from Glos, thanks to Linda for supplying the send off. Just what i wanted someone I know.........all red eyed, no make up and trying to lift my rucksack off to get it in the overhead storage, yes it actually fitted. Good job I took the sink out last night. Ian reckons I put it in his!!

Everything has pretty much gone to the timetable, train from Brussels to Cologne has announced a delay arriving which has given us a bit of a scare for our connection (won't be the last) to Warsaw, we should still be ok. Brussels station was raining & huge, Ian went to find a loo and disappeared for ages then came back unrefreshed as he didn't take change, we're not yet in the swing of this backpacking travelling thing, are we. Oh we nearly forgot the 1 hour forward in our planning thing to.

Local time 19.49 still Day 1 now heading for Cologne looking forward to sleeper train to Warsaw I think!

Cologne station quite cute, loads of food places and ......... Phew sleeper connection for Warsaw also delayed for c30 mins so time for our first of many emergency burgers,, don't want to eat all our 'just in case' supplies (ask Kids) too soon, Ian would have nothing to carry.

Jan kiepura express sleeper to Warsaw sorted.......Polish conductor "can you tell us which is wagon 180", "yes this one" "oh thank you...........we missed the big red sign right in front of us.

Cabin is 'compact & bijou' but fully equipped and we even get tea brought to us in the morning by our friendly conductor, Ian's gone to explore facilities while I find space for stuff.

Ian's excited cos he's found the shower in one of the toilet compartments, so he's going off with soap in hand for his last adventure of the day, it's now 23.00 local time. He thought the shower was small but showing in a wheelie bin on a roller-coaster might have been easier.

Night, night xx
