Have been on a bit of a catch up mission! It would be sacrilege to come to Uganda and not eat...
-Grilled tilapia fish from Lake Victoria
- 'Luwombo' - a local dish in which chicken, beef or goat meat is steamed in banana leaves.
The place to go to for Luwombo is at Nalongo's in Katwe! Everyone from MP's to Joe Public, goes to Nalongo's 'joint'. It is so popular, that at one point, the Sheraton asked her to set up shop at their hotel in Central Kampala. However, the rates proved too high for her and before long she was back in Katwe. Nalongo sits at the entrance and greets each and every customer who comes through the doors. Makes you feel special!
It's my last night in Uganda and looking forward to the next leg of the journey! Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond my control, my time in Johannesburg is limited to only 1 and half days. What to do? It's a toss up between Soweto or Sun City! Not sure. I'll decide when I get there.

Never been to Nalongo's joint. I don't know how I missed that! I haven't had lunch today - I had to do some work, so seeing your pic's make me very hungry. I cannot wait to get home and cook. I hope I will stay alive that long!
Holiday resort or real life history? I'd go for real life history and that would be SOWETO!
