An early morning rise - a difficult one - and off to the train station. Our group is taking a 4 hour sllloooow train ride up the mountains, through the jungle and down to the coastal town of Morretes. This was one of the original Portuguese settlement towns in Brazil. The ride was beautiful, when you could actually see through the clouds. We walked around the cobble stoned town for an hour or so (doesn't take much longer!) before we sat down to lunch. In a continued Brazilian way, it was an endless amount of fabulous food. Walked off our fullness before grabbing a quicker bus return to Curitiba. Once in Curitiba, we split to do some shopping, catch movies, or just relax before we had to take our night bus to Iguassu. Now the amusing portion; a group of people went to see Wedding Crashers, I had already seen this so opted to see Horror of Amittyville with another person that had already seen WC as well. Of course, as I was leaving the movie shaking and disturbed, I was regretting the viewing. I meet up with the group to grab the night bus and everyone was joking about how visibly shaken I really was! Anyway, we settle in for the night, laid out in our sleepers. I'm next to Kate, my always room & sleeper mate, in the last row behind our group. In the middle of the night Kate has a nightmare and starts SCREAMMING bloody murder. It takes David and I a few minutes to calm her down and get her oriented with where she is..all is good. Except no one believes the next morning that it wasn't me scared out of my wits!! I think there are still a few that think Kate is covering for me. But to say the least, for the next few days she is known only as the screamer...
