Out of Milford we stopped to walk the initial section of the Routeburn track from the Divide to Key Summit, where 360 degree views of the surrounding Fiords and Alpine scenery amazed us.
We arrived in Queenstown on the night of the Winter Festival Mardi Gras (which Rob is keen to point out was an entirely heterosexual affair) thus our night in Queenstown was extremely impressive, with music, dancing, food and shopping. Perfect.
The following day we walked to the top of the Skyline Gondola for impressive views of the city, a hot chocolate, and some carrot cake. After being encouraged by Rob not to buy an entire ski outfit, we made our way to Wanaka, via pretty Arrowtown.
