With the winter beginning to approach, the over-commercialised and over-hyped Gold Coast was far from appealing. The high-rise concrete facade of Surfers Paradise with the wind whipping off the ocean held our attention for all of an hour.
Instead we made our way inland to the mountain range known as the Gold Coast Hinterland. Sophie splurted her way up a mighty steep and winding pass to afford great views back over the coastline. A relaxing afternoon was spent enjoying a series of pleasant forest walks around the Tamborine Mountains before participating in Kim's in-house lash fest as a substitute for the infamous Gold Coast party scene that was sadly lacking due to the off-season dreariness!
