Lovely Freo, how lucky we were to visit you twice! A this point I was seriously missing Basil, and staying in the 10-bed all-girl did not make me feel much better. Three weeks ago, not far from here, I feasted on wine, chocolate, mint tea and muesli and revelled in a welcome lack of dippy, stinking hippie traveller types. That was our first night in Basil, this time, back in Fremantle, we had to counsel ourselves with fish & chips in the famous Cicerello's.
The rest of the night was spent tootling around Freo's pretty shops and lovely streets, a firm favourite destination.
