Another delightfully peaceful journey sat in the darkened hollowed out pit of a large boat, this time with the insufferable sounds of Hooray! Hooray! It's A Holi-Holiday and Rasputin by the lyrical genius that is Boney M, skipping repeatedly for three hours. Good times.
Arrived in Penang and Rob soon managed to sniff out a sports bar, while I amused myself trying to sink ice cubes in my Diet Coke.
The following day we started out at Fort Cornwallis, an old colonial fort with an exceptionally dull exhibition about The East India Company and some equally dull chatter about sailing, which Rob got excited about, while I amused myself with the bakery section of our Lonely Planet.
We then visited Kek Lok Si Temple, a truly crazy mix of temples and Buddha's all stacked totally haphazardly on top of each other.
Finished off the day with a trip on the funicular railway to penang Hill, 821m above Georgetown for some spectular views of Penang at dusk, with Georgetown lighting up below us.
