Hat Yai. What a dump. We flew here from Bangkok, which was a real treat. Although sadly no exciting plane food for me. Hat Yai was full of people camping out overnight, so they could leave and re-enter Thailand to renew their Thai visas. So devoid of anything of note, we ended up eating in McDonalds. Our hostel was quite something to behold, it makes me feel quite sick just writing about it. Definitely a bed to sleep in your own sleeping bag liner. The room came with its own squat toilet. Swanky.
