The bus journey was quite something. They had managed to fit three aisles of beds along the width of the bus and six bunks down the length of each row. Excited about finding a way to arrange overselves (and our bags) onto these bookshelves we strode purposefully onto the bus, only to be told 'Madam, you no have your shoes on.' I knew my feet had been seriously cold, but I doubted they had fallen off altogether. Some more lovely miming and we established I needed to take off my shoes, adding another item to accomodate in my bed. Rob followed suit and we set about trying to fold ourselves up into the matchbox sized bed
Arrived in Guilin and saw the stunning scenery of the Seven Star Park, including the impressive (albeit with the standard Chinese kitch!) caves. The limestone karst scenery of Guangxi province and beyond is truly remarkable - there is much exploring to be done...
