Our trip to the Great Wall of China was truly incredible!
To avoid the standard tourist trip of a hurried bus journey, followed by the obligatory quick snaps, we decided to take on the 10km hike along the Wall from Jinshaling to Simatai. We were not disappointed...
The sun was shining brightly in a cloudless sky and despite fear of freezing conditions, we were soon building up quite a sweat!
Tranquil, breathtaking - the Great Wall snakes as far as the eye can see over inhospitable terrain. Only as you walk do you appreciate the effort required to build such a structure.
This is probably an appropriate moment to say that a picture tells a thousand words...enjoy! If you get a chance to go, don't ever refuse it...
