This is it!  Today is our last day in Central America.  Tomorrow begins the next portion of our journey -- the sailboat to Colombia, and our journey through South America.

Since completing our canal transit, we`ve been hanging out in and around Panama City.  Thanksgiving for us was similar to that at home -- football, having a few beers with friends at the hostel, and even a turkey dinner at an American resturant here in Panama City.  Today we took the morning to visit a national park just outside the city.  The park is located near the Panama Canal, and we followed a couple of different trails through the rainforest.  Along the first trail, we had lots of little river crossings (hopping over the rocks) and were rewarded with a park ranger who pointed out a few different types of monkeys in the trees above.  We could also hear (but not see) many other monkeys at other points on the path.  Additionally, the trail followed a river with a small but nice waterfall.  The second trail followed what was once one of the first paved roads in Panama.  Here, John and I saw our first Central America snake of the trip.  It was a small brown snake, which surprised me by crossing the path directly in front of us.
