After returning from the islands, we headed into Granada.  Granada is perhaps the most tourist-oriented town in Nicaragua, and from what we've seen so far, for a good reason.  The town center is composed of very pleasant, colonial-style buildings, and is quite pretty.  I'm looking forward to exploring it in the next few days.

For this afternoon, though, we opted to step a little bit outside the city center.  Why?  Because the Nicaraguan professional baseball league had a game in Granada today.  First of all, yes -- there is really a professional baseball league in Nicaragua.  As it turns out, it's a pretty decent league, and they send quite a few players up to the US to play for our teams as well.  Today's game was between the team from Granada and a team from Chinandega (a place we had to change busses once).  Although these aren't the best two teams in the country, it was still a good game, and went down to the last half inning.  The stadium resembled a standard minor-league stadium in the US, with a roughly comperable sized crowd.
