Where I stayed

Early morning wake up call was at 5am in order to take our taxi to JFK, where our luggage was incredibly overweight, and so we had to hold up the entire queue whilst we repacked all of our stuff, throw out some unnecessary items, and over pack our hand luggage!

Our flight took us to Orlando, and we arrived at our hotel, Days Inn, at around 1. Perfect timing! Steph and Jodie went to find some food (as they were "keen for a feed" as the aussie says...) whilst Shell and I stayed to suss out the hotel and the gorgeous pool in front of our room! After a while, we were curious as to where Steph and Jodie were... so we went out on the streets of International Drive. We spent what felt like a lifetime walking from shop to shop, to restaurant to restaurant to try and find them; with no luck. Turns out they were sat in the one place we didn't look, Ihop the International House of Pancakes, due to Jodie's healthy eating way of life!

Today marked the 58th day of my time in the United States, and also the day that I finally Skyped my parents and twin sister! Wow, so emotional! I could not contain myself, the tears had a life of their own and I was just crying and crying until there was nothing left to cry. Neither party were prepared for my reaction. Ridiculous levels of love. I had to take my new little netbook outside onto the grass in front of our room, as it was getting far too emotional for my roomies to witness! I couldn't believe my reaction, especially to my sister, I could barely speak to her, let alone breathe! I was just staring at her, smiling, laughing and crying! As her little "verne" face came onto my screen I just BURST into tears- my chest was so tight, it was mental. An emotional mixture of laughter with heavy sobbing and hysterical crying. Producing an inexplicable amount of back sweat and what I like to call, boob beads. Crazy!

We took the little green shuttle bus to Seaworld at 3pm which was incredible, even second time round! Obviously we went on all of the rides and they were all so much fun, especially this really cool one called Mantra. You are strapped in, and then it turns everyone face down so you feel like a Stingray gliding through the ocean... such a good ride! We then went to see all of the animals and the shows. The dolphin show was incredible and there were so many incredible acrobats and birds to complement the dolphins. The high stunt dives, somersaults and all the dancing in the air were so impressive, and from such height! Amazing!

On to the big finale show- Shamu! The Killer Whale! This show was UNREAL! Absolutely spectacular and the video clips in-between the Killer Whale tricks were just spine-tingling, especially with the added American style drama with the dramatic music. We took our chances and sat on the last row of the "splash zone" but in the middle; amazing seats. The biggest splash of the entire show was when one Killer Whale used its tail to fire and aim the water purposefully into the audience. It was hilarious, and was directed solely at us... we were absolutely soaked and Steph got the full brunt of it. It was hilarious, her hair was completely wet, and everything was just soaked! Amazing! She was the one and only person in the entire audience to get completely and utterly drenched!

Such a good day out in Seaworld, so much fun!

We got back to the hotel around 10pm and went across the road to play some mini golf, at the most amazing course ever! We started the course off well by going the completely wrong way and so we had to muddle up the order in which we were going, jumping from hole 10 to hole 4 etc and causing all kinds of trouble for other players... then Shell and I somehow managed to completely wind up Steph and it was so funny, golf club slamming and all! Good times!

After a good nights sleep where I rolled over and completely slammed my arm into Shell without her waking up, we had set an alarm to wake us all up in time for the 8:40am free shuttle bus courtesy of our hotel, to take us over to Universal. However, we slept through the alarm and woke up at 8:20am. We were all so tired, that it took us what seemed like a lifetime to finally wake up and make a decision as to whether we were going to make the bus or not. Eventually after mulling about in our beds for ages thinking we'd missed it, at 8:30am we all decided that we could actually make it...

I was ready first and so ran to the bus and literally begged the driver to wait for us, she kicked up a fuss saying 8:40 was the leaving time and that we should have been there 5 minutes earlier... but she could see Steph and Jodie running through the hotel, and so I begged her to wait for us, which she did. But then Shell was lagging behind, as per usual aha, and went to the hotel shop for some cereal and a banana- bloody typical haha! The driver kicked up a right fuss, but we all made it, could not believe it!  Haha, hilarious. A definite theme throughout our holiday.

It was a boiling hot day in Universal, and I could not believe how lucky I was to be back here again after just one year- crazy! We had such an incredible day at Universal's Islands of Adventure, going on every single roller-coaster- Hulk is still my favourite! This was another theme park to add to our list this holiday as it was one of the many trips us four had made to a Theme Park- the trips with our campers, plus Hershey Park. Harry Potter Land, or "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" as it is officially called, was incredible. If you ignore the ridiculously long queues... The music and spirit of the place was just as special as the first time I went there! Loved it!

We finished the day off in style and went to Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville which was right up our streets with the mellow music, good food, tasty cocktails and a great atmosphere. We were all made hats out of balloons to wear for the entire night which was hilarious, and we continued to wear them outside on the Unviersal CityWalk. Great day out at Universal, and even though I've been twice in two years, I would not hesitate to come back a third year running.
Shell and I went for a cheeky late night swim in the hotel pool which was unbelievably warm. So nice! So chilled and relaxing after such a good day! What a hotel for only $10 a night each.
