The trip to Diu brought about more technical problems, first we decided to leave Palitana at 3pm and thought we would arrive in Diu before dark...........wrong, and secondly we encountered the worst road I have ever seen leading into the town of Una about 15km from Diu. Then to add to our woes my bike broke down about 10km from Diu and I got a tow from Jimmy for the rest of the journey !! We were a sight arriving ( limping) into town at 10pm.
There is a hotel recommended in the Lonely Planet that we fancied and is called the Sao Tome Retiro and is an old converted church, downstairs is a museum and upstairs there are 8 rooms but best of all it is the highest point of the island and from the roof you get really great views. They also have BBQ's every second night hosted by the very "colourful" owner/manager George !!
The best thing about Diu was that we managed to meet some more people which has not happened for a while now
Diu is a small island that was under portugese rule until recently and has a real Christian feel to it , and is one of only 2 places in the state that sell beer !! There is a constant flow of tourists here and it is another one of those places where you dont do very much but could happily stay for weeks !!

Bikes - Daredevil camera work
. First we met Emmi from Helsinki........... a really nice girl who lives in London and we were lucky enough to "help" her celebrate her birthday on Sunday (1st) and then we met Laura ........... another really great girl from Utrecht in Holland. Both girls are travelling alone and we had a great time exploring the island and relaxing on the sandy beaches. Emmi got a great kick out of getting on the back of our bikes while Laura gamely kept up with us on her little moped.Diu is a small island that was under portugese rule until recently and has a real Christian feel to it , and is one of only 2 places in the state that sell beer !! Good evening....
Howya lads. Pictures look great. Cant believe you had 2 good looking birds on a beach and we get no bikini shots, shame on you.
I see James has forgotten how to shave. He will have to get rid of that fuzz around his face before he returns to civilisation.
I have seen the accomodation in Berlin, looks good, it will probably look like a palace to you boys.
Take it handy...
