We got a car to take us to Agra at 8am and it took 5hrs to get there and 6 to get back but my God it was worth it !!! The Taj Mahal was built by the king for his wife after she died giving birth to their 14th child and it took 22 years to complete in the 14th century ! It cost the equivalent of  $70 million to build and when finished the king decided to build another one in black marble for himself but his son realising how crazy his father had become overthrew and imprisoned the old king before he could waste all their wealth on this.
The first view of the Taj is amazing as you walk in through a courtyard and see it through an archway but up close you can really appreciate the artwork and intricate design in the white marble !! All day there people wanted to take photos with us and were really friendly, not like in the big cities of delhi and Mumbai !!!
Along with the Pyramids and Petra the Taj Mahal is something I will remember seeing for the rest of my days !!
