Oh, the joys of summer.. :)

Not a particularly substantial blog update today I'm afraid, been getting ready for Kadooment Day tomorrow! It's going to be INSANE. Gonna make one hell of a blog for that :D

But today was a fairly laidback day.. It was RIDICULOUSLY hot today, only about 30C which isn't THAT bad but the humidity was just ridiculous.. One of my closest friends Ju finally returned from Germany on Friday after being over there for 6 weeks, so we were out by my pool for a couple of hours cooling off and catching some much-needed sun. The boyfriend isn't in the island right now so I'll probably be outside quite a bit more now. Yay for more interesting blogs? :P

We were planning on going down to the beach, but my car got blocked into my driveway and another of my closest friends Kim decided to be late.. as always. She eventually got there with her boyfriend Noel and his cousin Sam in tow, but it was too late to go to the beach by then, so we went to chill by Sam's house instead. Played some pool [well they did, i did photographer duty], and went in his pool too! Lots of chlorine for my hair, yay..

Highway again :)

Then night fell and today stopped being quite so laidback. We had to go drop Kim back home up on the west coast, and we were all in Sam's truckbed just driving up the highway at night and talking a lot of random crap. Coming out of Kim's gap proved interesting though. By that point the two guys were in the cab and Ju and I were in the bed. Being in the bed we were facing backwards, and to my left a fight was starting to break out. As we drove on, one of the guys started walking in our direction. Probably drunk, after throwing a glass beer bottle on the ground. As Sam sped up, he started to run, and we were scared he would have some ulterior motive, when he finally turned a corner. Phew..

On the way back, we decide to have some fun :) With all the cane gone, there's now plenty of fields available for skidding and offroading and that is precisely what we did. We veered off the highway slightly into some canefields and did a few donuts in one. Then parked on a 40-50 degree incline for some reason and accidentally ran over a water main. Continuing on our way, passed by another very steamed up looking truck and joined the highway again, driving donuts around a bunch of the roundabouts [yes, our highway has roundabouts..]. Finally we found another field near to my house and drove in donuts there too. Almost hit ANOTHER water main, and Ju and I were hanging on to the sides of the truck for dear life. Although we felt like we were about to fall out sometimes, there's just no substitute for driving like idiots and having some fun :)

But now it's about 10:40pm, and I have to be up at 5:30am tomorrow to get ready to go to the National Stadium for the big parade! I'm so excited.. Will update tomorrow!
