Yesterday I did nothing. After all the walking from the day before my feet were killing me, not to mention that the shitty weather wasn't exactly inspiring. Keiko wasn't too disappointed not to be traping around in the wet, as she had a bit of work to do (which she managed to avoid doing for most of the day). My special request was for some homemade Tempura, so we went off to the supermarket for ingredients and then I vagely helped out making it.
How good are clean clothes? Today I got a load of washing done for me, and we headed to Kyoto for an afternoon outing - most of my toes were armed with bandaids, and I decided to go with a couple of pairs of socks for extra padding. We got around to the Ginkakuji Zen Temple which was pretty brilliantly maintained and very popular with the tourists. Insert more school kids here. We also browsed through a few other temples and shrines, but I wasn't keen to fork out 600 yen each time so we didn't view the garden areas on them.
We didn't stay there too late - I had an early train to catch and Keiko had an even earlier plane to catch the next day. I'm once again lucky to have such great hosts - so friendly and generous!
