Well I'm packed and ready to go - 30 mins until my taxi comes to pick me up. I have only just managed to peel my arse off the motorbike seat after a day of putting around on it looking at exciting things like gibbons and waterfalls and beaches. Needless to say my stay here has been a blast...

Food is probably the highlight in the end - well worth the price of admission - and I will sure miss Tom Yum Goong and proper chicken green curry (all for a few dollars each - bargain). One food I won't miss however, is the bitumen I ate from the street-side dodgy food man last night. I think the main thing to note here is that they ride their bike around to where they want to set up shop, so there's a fair chance that the uncovered food will cop a little tarmac or a nice dose of car fumes. I was lucky enough to get a bit of both, but the taste was fortunately masked by his barbequing technique (ie BURN!).

Yesterday I decided to spend the whole afternoon on the beach. Just laying there. Oh, and there was this nice man who kept bringing me 50 baht (AUD$1.80) Singha beers. And there was this other nice man who would come by every once in a while to readjust my umbrella and make sure none of those nasty rays of sun got all over me. There were also some unhelpful few who would try to sell me elaborate carvings, scary-looking foods in unsanitary containers, and even honey. Naturally I investigated some Thai language skills, and found out that "mai ow" is the polite way to get them to stop blocking your view and to try the next punter (most likely another bloody Aussie, they're everywhere).

Anyway, better get going because I'm doing Korea now...

Hey dude, it's good to hear what's going on and to see some photos. Can't wait to hear more of the trip, lots of places I haven't been. Good luck.
