Well today we have reach the ends of the earth.  We arrived in Ushuaia at about noon today.  It is the southernmost city in the world.  It is not a beautiful city.  But it has a beautiful back drop.  It has huge mountains, and it is also on the water.  We checked into our little hotel.  It has only 4 rooms.  The water here is a brown color, but it doesnt smell, so I can totally handle the brown.  All in all it is a nice place.  I had the best shower Ive had in a few days.  Being clean makes such a difference.

We headed out determined to get some King Crab from the arctic waters (or antarctic perhaps).  We found this restaurant that had great seafood.  The highlight of the visit was when Molly accientally said ´I am a King Crab´ instead of ´I want a King Crab´.  So we finally had some crab.  It was good, and it was even already taken out of the shell for us, although there is something very primal about having to work to get to your meat (I´m kind of kidding about this, but kind of not...).  By the time we finished eating it was 3 o´clock.  Our goal was to get on a 3 30 boat that would take us to an island with sea lions, another with special birds and another with a lighthouse that is the southernmost lighthouse in the world (notice a trend here...).  We decided we needed heavier jackets for the ride, but going back to get jackets made us miss the boat.  The operators of the boat tours here are very pushy.  You cançt walk by the port area without being accosted by several people trying to get you on their boat tour.  Take a group of 5 people who don´t have a plan and ´have trouble making decisions and badger them to make one, and it is not a pretty scene.  We ended up meeting this really nice man Sebastien who helped us out quite a bit.  He spent a lot of time helping us figure out what to do, even if it wasn´t with his tour company.

So the plan is tomorrow to in the morning to all the things above that we were going to do but didnt do when we missed the boat.  Plus some trekking on Alicia Island.  This is all while cruising through the Beagle Channel.  Then tomorrow afternoon we will ride a bus through Tierra del Fuego, and then to an estancia (a ranch) and then on a boat to an island where a group of penguins live.  We get to walk around with the penguins, or something like that (not sure exactly what this entails).

Amidst all of our trying to make plans today, we managed to have drinks, hot chocolates, snacks, etc at 5 different places.  We were constantly in and out.  They sure like their red meat in Argentina.  Red meat and fried eggs and potatoes.  I ordered a ravioli type thing, and it was filled with Broccoli.  Never had broccoli ravioli before.  Actually quite good.  And good for you.  It was light until about 10 o´clock.  It is pretty chilly, but not terrible.  The cold is nice after the stick Buenos Aires.  And it is making my mosquito bites not itch quite so much.

So, I hope all is well in the states.  I will talk to you all later!
