We made it to Buenos Aires!  Our flight landed at noon today, and we had a smooth arrival into the city.  We had a long cab ride from the airport, and finally made it to our lovely little palermo hotel, che lulu.  It is in a very old house in a somewhat Trendy neighborhood.  We are lseeping in an attic loft.  All 5 of us are sharing a room.  Our loft does not have a door.  And none of the rooms have locks!  AT least not the bathroom or shower room.

First off I needed a quick shower.  I walked down to the shower room.  It had two teeny tiny showers in it and nowhere to put my clothes.  When I first got in the shower, I noticed very very old looking plumbing and shower head.  I turned it on and it was ice cold and so small you couldn´t keep away from the water.  I was seriously worried this would be a ´no hot water´type of place (which what can I expect for $16 a night).  And as I thought about how good it is for me to take cold showers every day here and how much it will help me appreciate my cooshy life in illinois, the shower heated up.  Bellissimo!  Still I must say, you have to really like the people you are traveling with because this is very close quarters!

We went to the Eva Peron museum this afternoon and enjoyed a true argentinian lunch from 3 to 5.  And those of you who know me well know it is quite unlikely that it is now 8pm, and I am still not headed to dinner for the evening.  I am hoping to make it until at least midnight tonight.  I´m working my way up.

Tonight we are heading out for a steak dinner.  Jason and Molly LOVE their beef, so we will be enjoying a lot of it while we are here.  This is good, as they are famous for their beef.  We are also going to try to find a Tango place tonight.  I would like to participate, but I dont think I can talk my date into joining me.  we shall see!

Also, for all of you who are wondering, it does not appear to be true that the water goes down the toilet the opposite way here.  We are highly disappointed by this apparent myth!

ok, i better get going.  Enjoy your Saturday and your lush, roomy showers with doors and locks!

An Adventure!
Krystal, I was delighted to receive the link to your blog. I love how you turn your travel snags into adventures! When your date was at the CRO, I suggested that it is expected to learn to Tango in Argentina, but I don't think he was buying it. Can't wait for the next installment...Have fun! Barb
