I spent the night in a dingy Motel 6 and found my way the Subaru dealership the in the morning.  Now the dealership I located moved so I drove around in circles a few times until I broke down and went into the Honda dealership that was in the spot where the Subaru one should be.  I moseyed up to the service folks and asked them what's what.  They gave me the down low on the transfer of property and the Subaru being down the way and a left and a right.

I hit the 'Baru 'ship and tell them tales of my check engine light.  While I'm there I decide it's a good idea to get that 150,000 maintenance that I was putting off.  I'm at about 155,000 miles right now.  So the patient goes into the operating room and I'm told "It's going to be a while but, well do put two guys on it to get you going ASAP".  He'd already given up that they had some service cancellations for this day so he was really just looking for something for his guys to do.

I'm sitting in the waiting room which is rather posh for a Subaru place.  50 inch T.V., Free WiFi, Caribou Coffee.  Not to shabby.  The sales guy comes over and ever so politely offers to get me coffee.  You can't sell a salesman, I see the pitch coming a mile away.  I walk with him to the coffee pots and pour a cup myself.  We get to talking about the new model and as soon as he realizes I'm not a buyer he says "you left your laptop over there didn't you".  I sauntered back to the WR and laughed to myself.  He wanted to talk and I was game until such time as I wasn't buying from him and then it was "hit the bricks".  The good sales guys aren't that obvious but, we're all thinking the same thing.

Hours pass and I'm updating this blog with my free time (right now I'm in Miles City, MT taking a break from the road and stealing WiFi from the Best Western, I'm in their parking lot, no one has come up to me with the pointing finger just yet).

Then Al the service manager comes in with a too nice smile on his face and we go over the dealio.  The maintenance gets done but, the Catalytic Converter will need to be replaced.  If not now some time in the future.  After the significant dollar digits of this job register in my cranium I give him a look like, "do I have to get this done" and he picks up on it and says "I wouldn't do it, it may give you problems but, if you aren't noticing something I'd wait until you have to with a car this old".  I thought  "I agree and this is why I (might need to) have Triple A and that air mattress and a cooler filled with Propel, water and Muscle Milk.

It's about 2:00 pm when I get my walking papers and I'm freaking starving.  I go to Baker's Square across the way.  I get a tasty Eggs Benedict for lunch/dinner and it's free pie day so I have a nice slice of  Pecan Caramel.  Oh so good.

Then I hit the highway running.  Destination Fargo.  As with all things on my trip I don't get as far as I'd like.  I end up seeing a sign for Fergus Falls, MN.  I decide to stop here only because of the alliteration.
