Do you remember on the Brady Bunch when they went to Hawaii and Greg got that rawhide necklace with the Tiki carving/idol.  You might remember that he ran into a stretch of bad luck with the surfing and such for a while.

I got up in Green Bay and decided to get some shoes and possibly a nice pair of pants.  I went to DSW and found some "hikers" of which Sarah Laake would most certainly approve and scooted down the road. 

Not before heading to Brett Favre's Steakhouse.  I went straight up to the bar and hooked into WiFi and got my map out.  I'm not a Favre fan but, I thought, this is somewhere I should be for lunch. 

The place is very Lincoln cabinish with dark green hues and a sports theme.  If Favre was Jesus this is where people would spend their Sundays.  I ordered the prime rib sandwich which was decent if not spectacular and was treated to the tomfoolery of the bartender who's name escapes me.

I asked him what the house specialty was he replied with "It's all good" and "We're only open for lunch about 4 times a year"  Very helpful.  I know a few people who wouldn't let their dissatisfaction with the lack of recommendations flow like a river of fire.  I was just amused because he clearly didn't want to be there. 

The subject of his Lackawanna was the chef.  Barkeep has worked there for 7 years and Chef for 5 and they usually get along.  He was really into annoying the crap out of him and blamed his being the middle child of 3 and a thirst for annoying his sister who enjoyed annoying him as the reason for his pathology.  He said he loved driving the chef nuts.  That is gave him a wonderful sensation deep inside.  He wished he didn't have to do this but, it was the only thing that made him happy.

The told a tale of the chef over toasting some rolls.  The chef wanted to scrape off the blackness and serve them up.  Tender wanted none of this.  The loggerhead resulted in
the rolls being hurled at the tender and new ones being toasted.

Did I mention I'm the customer.  I'm not sure that I want to know how dysfunctional Brett's place is but, it was entertaining and you can bet that with the chef out of sight I was going to do everything I could to validate barkeeps position.  I want some decent food.  Not tampered with food.  Decent I must say.

So I got my sandwich took a gander at the shrine o' Favre that serves sandwiches but, doesn't usually do lunch and hit the road the the small apple city.

The Greg Brady thing is coming back stay tuned.
