A quick one today, since today was uneventful sort of by design.
After the hectic of yesterday, I went downstairs to tell the front desk to continue charging the same account, like Mastercard lady told me, when I found out that "we don't have that capability, sir". Say what?
Yes, they couldn't continue charging my card (which made me wonder, what would happen if I, say, smashed everything in my room before I left? What would they do?) Oh great. Another panic.
In the end, I decided that since I was getting my credit card sent here, and I didn't want to go through that mess again, that it would be best to stay here a few more days, and pay cash, getting money wired from home. (The other option was the hostel.) So I did that, which required another visit to the exchange bureau, plus various other errands -- to the internet cafe (although a couple of minutes' war strolling showed I can get free internet from the building literally next door), some phone messing around (I think it works, have yet to try) and so on.
The evening was spent creekside; first having dinner with a view of an abra station, then going for a walk around to the Heritage Village, another area of restored buildings. Not thrilling, but nice. And a nice break, I think.
