Day 259 : A Very Soxy City

Highlight for us though, we bought a lot of really cheap socks in the markets. Very successful few hours.
This little capital city has a lot of charm, and although we only got about 14 hours to spend here (including sleeping time), we did enjoy it. Known for its wild bachelor party offerings, and the very favourable female to male ratio in the under 30 category; it's considered to be quite the sexy Eastern European destination. We got a taste of what draws the locals and foreigners in, saw some giant-ass snow-men, the commemoration to the 1st Christmas tree on its 500 year anniversary, drank some local liquors and brews as well as trying the local speciality; pelmeni. We even managed to fit in an encounter with the very eager local police, who were visibly excited as they approached us, ready to pounce on our delinquent behaviour of drinking alcohol on the streets. As the officer, smirking and trudging over like it was a spaghetti-western, began to abscond us for our clear breach of this lawful state – I politely interrupted and showed him our bottle of Kvass, a local malt drink, a favourite shared by young and old. A prompt apology and a short cackle from the officers partner and they were out of sight rather quickly.
