I have three words to say about Debre Zeyt - YUM! (x 3). From Harar we headed east with the vague plan to try and find the lakes in the south. We bought a bus ticket as far as a town called Nazret which, according the the map we had in hand, seemed to lie on an appropriate intersection for exploring the south. At some point during the course of the bus trip however we started to play the dangerous game of food fantasies... and before too long our plan had evolved to include a stopover in Debre Zeyt. Jan the Dutch (ref previous entry!) had told us about a family from the Netherlands who ran a farm making home-made and European-style cheese and sausages.... it was to here we were headed! Armed with very sketchy information we took a chance and after quite a few initial disappointments we eventually found Genesis Farm and spent a whole morning stuffing ourselves with gloriously rich foodstuffs. Let the pictures say it all :-)
