On Monday morning we took the 1 hour boat between Buenos Aires and Colonia. This was a good opportunity to take a trip into Uruguay.
We arrived and went in search of a hostel.
Found a nice place for reasonably cheap.
We toured around the city, in and out of the Colonial city that has been preserved. The old architecture was quite amazing, and we enjoyed taking some interesting photos. One museum showed off some stuffed figures of local animals...thus the caraz-ay squirrel. Imagine waking up to that fella...no thanks.
Our plan had been to rent dune buggies and tour around the area, then later in the evening head to Montevideo for a night.
I was joined in the movie viewage, with an older guy from the US.
We met a couple from Holland (Cornel and Marieke) while we were in Calafate in the South. There (in Calafate) we spent a night talking there over a few drinks.
Then, when we were first arrived in BA last week, we came across them again sitting in one of our favorite cafes.
So due to some more not great weather, we decided to jump back onto the boat and head back (again) to Buenos Aires...and here we are, planning our next move. Iguazu falls is the next step for sure. Bolivia is seeing some major flooding, and the country is in a state of emergency. We had planned to go there next, but its not looking good. We will have to plan around it.
I hope that everyone is well, and weŽll talk to you soon.
