A good weekend

This has been a crazy weekend. There were two guys in our group that had birthdays this week, so on Saturday we went out to celebrate....to a Car Wash. So apparently here, the Car Wash is the place to go on the weekends, it´s a normal car wash during the day, but at night it turns into a dance club. It´s the most random thing in the world...but it was so much fun. It´s really just like any club. There is a dance floor and bar area and everything, I don´t know, but I guess it works for them. There were 20 or so people from our group and then some of our Dominican friends came with, too, so there was lots of dancing, which we learned how to do last week! I have no rythym whatsoever, but I can kind of do the merengue... I´m not a dancer, but it´s fun.
On Sunday, my ENTIRE family and my friend Jen and I all went to the beach!! Yay for beautiful Domincan beaches. By entire family, I´m not exaggerating, we had 15 people in a 7 seater suburban, the grandma, great grandma, all the babies...it was crazy. But we got to the beach, which was about an hour away from the city. We went to one a little farther away ´cause it´s nicer. The beach was gorgeous, and we just spend the day swimming, laying out...Jen and I were the only people laying out ´cause we are the only white girls that needed sun there, I guess! But it was a good day. I wore SO much sunscreen and all that, and yeah, I´m still sunburned in areas. It could have been much worse, though, at least I´m not ghostly white anymore.
Next week, we have Tuesday off because it´s a holiday here, so we´re spending the day touring the city some more, and then on Thursday I´ll be going to visit a Peace Corps girl who is also in Spec. Ed. I have to get there by myself on this insane transportation, so I´m a little nervous, but I´ll get there eventually! I´ll be there with her until Sunday, which is exciting for us to get to all go on a little trip to visit different people, and she lives in the mountains, which is a lot cooler than here, so that will be a nice changeup.
