So I'm really miffed - I've just lost two hours of typing! Damn computers!

So it's been a hectic time since we last typed, the house is nearly done. More next time!

I've started work; serving on the exec team of It's exciting! I won't bore you with the detail but it's an exciting opportunity!

The theme for this months blog is CAMP COLDSTREAM.
Yep, having survived 14 days of the CHILDS, SCRACE and MUNTON families we can honestly say that we are officially KNACKERED! So knackered in fact that its has taken us 4 weeks to write about the ordeal ;-) Only kidding!

So first up, Nicky and her family came to visit us in what can only be described as a "pimp my ride" house on wheels. This thing turned up on our driveway, it was a 45ft home on wheels. Chrome alloys, 12 beds, 4 baths, 1 CB, 1 hot tub, 2 kitchenettes and 3 steering wheels. It was awesome, we want one. Its just a shame Colin, that the crapper didn't work as it was supposed to!

Rewind one week before. Elaine flew out to Calgary to meet Nicky, Colin and Val. It turns out that it was really an excuse for Elaine and Nicky to legally eye up a bit of skirt, in other words, they went the Calgary Stampede... For all those that don't know, the stampede is an excuse for all females to go and eye up a 'bit of stuff'. Cowboys in chaps and tight Wrangler jeans, balls balls everywhere.. Nicky fell in love, over and over again.....Yeeee Haaaaaa. All I can say Nicky is Brokeback Mountain. OOOhhhhhh Ahhhhh. Sorry to shatter the illusion J Then again, Elaine does say that every girl should have a gay friend. I agree, it brings balance to the force.

Elaine and Nicky had a great time with mad Colin and Val and the pimped up hotel and wheels driving through the Rockies. Upon arrival Colin and Val went off on their travels and left Nicky to look after Gizmo. She trained him well. He now craps anytime, anyplace, anywhere. Way to go, Nicky "The dog whisperer" ;-)

Next up the CHILDS family arrives. Three words that best describe my family. MAD, MEAT & TEA. Thank god for BBQ's. After two weeks of cooking meat on the BBQ I almost turned to the dark side. We spent over 200 quid on meat products, it was like the Atkins diet on Steroids, a delicious steak for breakfast, a pork chop for brunch, a sausage for afternoon snack, a kebab for tea and a steak for dinner. Oh, don't forget the beef jerky to take to bed for a nighttime snack and the enless cups of PG. We went through 2*20lbs of propane in two weeks and we've had to officially write off the BBQ as an asset. We were issued with a pollution warning by the local council....

One of the funnier moments had to be when we went to Ellison Park. We unloaded the truck and wheelchair for mum. Unfortunately mum had taken it upon herself to get in the wheelchair without putting the brakes on. As we continued to unload the truck, mum thought it would be funny to gain speed downhill by pushing herself with her walking stick ..... (Picture a canoe, paddling side to side). We all looked up to see her 40 metres downhill giggling and gaining speed. Off went George and Carol in pursuit, Ray, Col and I couldn't stop laughing (involuntary reaction). I should mention that George suffers from excessive sweating and breathlessness and Carol had a triple bypass 2 years ago. Credit where credit is due, Carol and George caught mum with metres to spare. Apparently she thought that I was pushing her faster and faster! Doh!

During mums visit, the SCRACES also honored us with their presence. At one point we had 14 people in the house over a five-day period. Myself and Elaine ended up sleeping in the hotub! Steve and his family came up the Star for an afternoon of crashing, sorry, mountain biking. I think they liked it?! Steve is quite a big guy, when he crashes, he crashes....Say no more. It was good to see them, I hope they come back to learn how to ski.

Speaking of mountain biking, it's been open house on injuries. I did Spanky's, the mountain bike equivilant of doing a parachute jump (but without the parachute and) without armor. Ouch, I know sport an 8 inch scar on my right arm. Urgh.

Auntie Ray and Col decided to have a go at MB. A bit of a disaster for Col (see pics). As for Ray, he won't be fathering children in the near future.

Elaine says hi, she's busy working in another coffee shop. She passes her best on.

Last night we went to the Silver Star beer festival. Can't remember much apart from waking up at a fantastic Golf course this morning called Mabel Lake (about 30 mins away). The best golf course ever , you drive down a runway where planes land. Weird...

Anyway, hi to all. Finchy - hope your well. Russ - where are you! Johnboy, Tim, Gaz - Come over soon please ...

Sorry for not being in touch will try harder.

Lots of love

Will, Elaine and Gizmo
