The verdant hills of Vermont and the crisp, sunny days that met us there, eased me back into the U.S. after a week steeped in francophone sophistication and grace.  A few days in  Burlington, with super cool couple, Scott & Mildred and their adorable twins, Stigs and Marcello, allowed us to take it easy and experience downtown Burlington, Lake Champlain, and the University of Vermont, pedestrian style.  We then met up with John's aunt and uncle, Mary K and Steve, in Essex Junction, VT.  They graciously hosted us for several days, inviting us to celebrate Mary K's birthday, lending us their bicycles for an exilerating ride along Lake Champlain via Burlington Bike Path's Colchester Causeway, and introducing us to the Lake Monsters (Vermont's minor league baseball team).  Mary K capped it all off by accompanying us on a hike to the summit of Camel's Hump, Vermont's third highest peak, and Steve prepared a delicious meal for us that evening.  It was a great visit, and I so enjoyed their company!
