Surrounded by water, and boasting a pristine environment, cool architecture, truly multicultural population (59% of the residents have a first language other than English and French), countless restaurants representing diverse cuisines, and plenty of green space, Vancouver is my new favorite city!.  We walked pretty much everywhere we possibly could from our Harborside hotel; downtown, Gastown, Chinatown, Robeson (the main drag) and Stanley Park.  I'll let the photos speak for themselves.

My Happy Place
I just read all 31 beautifully written entries. I think I'm a little carsick! What an amazing adventure, and it will only get more exotic. I have traveled to (or lived in) most of the places you've seen but never experienced them at 'ground level.' We nearly crossed paths as I just finished taking my sister and nieces on a trip down the Pacific Coast starting in northern Oregon through the Redwoods and wine country to San Francisco. It was a graduation present for my youngest niece and a welcome home present to the oldest back from Zambia (wish you were here so I could show you some film). The girls will be moving back to Seattle the end of the summer. I should be joining them, retired to some west coastal community if the economy had not tanked, but am grateful to have a job with benefits and most recently a new office--with a door! Otherwise not much has improved on the corporate front and looking at your nomadic journey isn't helping (jealous). I can see you on the Amazing Race but take your time and be safe...looking forward to the next chapters, Patty

Wow! I'm jealous!
Wow! I think you've already made an amazing race! Even though there have been no television cameras recording your every move, the vivid descriptions of your travels make me feel like I am there alongside you. Thanks for sharing. I look forward to reading the next installments of your great adventure. Happy trails!
